River Camp Mara

There are eight accommodation units: six luxury tents, one Family Suite and one Private Suite. The two larger arrangements provide two bedrooms and shared living space, giving families or friends an alternative to separate standard tents. Rooms have en-suite bathrooms and verandas facing the surrounding bush and river setting. The Family Suite has a central lounge between two en-suite bedrooms. A two-bedroom suite counts as one accommodation unit, not one bedroom.

Game drives explore Mara North Conservancy, with further access arrangements available for Lemek, Ol Choro and the Maasai Mara National Reserve. Guided walks and permitted night drives take advantage of the conservancy setting. Bush meals and sundowners add time outdoors beyond wildlife drives, and balloon flights can be arranged separately. Resident wildlife provides interest throughout the year; migration positions and river crossings in the wider ecosystem depend on conditions.

The Family and Private Suites provide two-bedroom arrangements with shared living areas, allowing a family or small group to remain together. Discuss occupancy and vehicle allocation for the particular party. Walking activities and longer reserve excursions need to reflect the children’s ages and stamina.

Allow several nights for both conservancy drives and any longer reserve excursion, without using every day for a long transfer. River Camp can pair with Laikipia for a contrasting safari setting, then continue to Lamu or another coastal stay for a slower finish.
