About Mahali Mzuri

Mahali Mzuri is a twelve-tent camp overlooking a valley in Olare Motorogi Conservancy. Contemporary interiors, a pool and spa complement a safari centred on resident wildlife, with private conservancy access and optional visits into the wider Maasai Mara.

The camp’s tents stand above the valley, giving rooms and shared areas long views across the plains. Its modern design offers a different atmosphere from the more traditional canvas camps nearby. A central dining tent, bar and lounge bring guests together, while the pool and spa provide places to relax between outings. Olare Motorogi is a private conservancy within the Mara ecosystem, with controlled visitor numbers and wildlife viewing that continues beyond the migration season.

01

Accommodation

Rooms

Twelve luxury tents combine bedrooms, en-suite bathrooms and private decks overlooking the valley. The family tented suite includes a king bed and two twin beds, allowing parents and children to stay together. Interiors were refurbished in 2025, so older photographs and room descriptions may not reflect the current appearance. The rooms remain tented accommodation with wildlife nearby; children under twelve need to share with a parent or guardian.

02

Food & drink

Dining

The kitchen focuses on pan-African flavours, using fresh ingredients in menus served in the dining tent, outdoors or during a bush meal. Breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner form part of the day. A relaxed bar and family menus make it easy to adapt meals around the group’s preferences and safari outings.

What to do

Activities

Twice-daily drives explore Olare Motorogi, while guided walks, stargazing and visits connected with Maasai crafts and community life can be arranged. Hot-air ballooning adds a sunrise perspective at additional cost. The pool and spa offer time back at camp. Drives into the Maasai Mara National Reserve require separate access arrangements and fees; migration movements and any river crossings remain dependent on wildlife and rainfall.

Planning your stay

The details that make a difference.

Travelling together

Children aged two and above are welcome. The family suite has a king bed and twin beds, and children under twelve must share with a parent. Younger children require a private closed vehicle for drives, which adds cost and needs reserving ahead.

What sets it apart

The valley views, contemporary tents and pool give Mahali Mzuri a comfortable, modern character. Its conservancy setting offers walks and controlled visitor numbers, while flexible dining and spa time help balance wildlife outings with a more relaxed stay.

Before you book

Conservancy and national reserve access are different arrangements, with reserve visits charged separately. Private vehicles are available on request. Families with children below six need a closed vehicle, and there is no regular babysitting service, so parents should plan supervision throughout the stay.
