Elephant Pepper Camp

There are eight safari tents, traditionally arranged as four doubles and four twins, plus two larger honeymoon or family suites. Each has an en-suite bathroom and private veranda, with campaign-style furnishings and space between neighbouring tents. The larger suites have a master bedroom and sitting room that can become sleeping space for children under 16. Standard tents can accommodate an extra child’s bed, while the suites offer greater separation and room to spread out.

Game drives explore Mara North’s resident wildlife, with opportunities for guided walks, sundowners and evening drives using red-filtered spotlights. An excursion into the national reserve can add another landscape and, when conditions align, migration activity near the rivers. A picnic makes a longer outing practical. Ballooning is a separate arrangement. Herd movements and crossings depend on rainfall and grazing, so neither the month nor the camp can guarantee a particular spectacle.

The two larger suites provide a master bedroom and a sitting room that can convert for children under 16. Standard tents also accept one extra child’s bed. For older children or several siblings, bedroom separation matters more than the overall tent size.

We would allow enough time to enjoy the conservancy on its own terms, then decide whether a reserve visit adds something useful. Elephant Pepper combines naturally with Laikipia or the coast; its larger suites are worth considering early when planning a family or honeymoon trip.
