Our take

About Wild Hill

Wild Hill is an exclusive-use five-suite retreat on Kileleoni Hill in the northern Mara. Panoramic views, living grass roofs, private guiding and substantial wellness facilities create a residential safari experience, with access to three surrounding conservancies.

Wild Hill follows the contours of its hilltop site, using living grass roofs and natural materials to connect the building with the landscape. The house is reserved for one group, supported by a host, chef, private guide and wellness team. An infinity pool, hot tub, fitness centre, sauna and cold plunge give guests plenty to enjoy between outings. Its northern Mara setting combines conservancy wildlife viewing with a strong community and conservation relationship through Collection in the Wild.

01

Accommodation

Rooms

Five suites have broad views across the plains, with bedrooms, lounge areas, fireplaces and verandas designed for time indoors as well as on safari. Coffee stations and minibars provide practical independence. Baths, indoor and outdoor showers add to the spacious residential feel. The suites are individually designed, and the sleeping arrangement for children or larger groups should be established against the house’s current room plan rather than assumed from the suite total.

02

Food & drink

Dining

A private chef prepares meals around the party’s preferences, using fresh local ingredients. Dining can move between the house, poolside and bush settings, with picnics and breakfasts incorporated into safari outings. The exclusive-use arrangement makes mealtimes flexible, whether the group wants a shared dinner or an earlier meal for children. Dietary requests are planned before arrival.

03

What to do

Activities

Private game drives explore Enonkishu, Ol Chorro and Lemek conservancies, with bush breakfasts, picnics and sundowners included in the wider experience. Walking, horse riding, e-biking and visits connected with conservation or the Mara Training Centre provide other perspectives when available. Wellness treatments, yoga and the gym offer time at the house. Helicopter and balloon flights require separate arrangements, and activities should follow the group’s abilities and interests.

Planning your stay

The details that make a difference.

Travelling together

The house is reserved for one group, allowing family meals and outings to follow a shared rhythm. Five separate suites offer privacy for adults and older children, while younger children’s rooming and supervision need planning. Riding and other active experiences depend on age and ability.

What sets it apart

The elevated outlook and extensive wellness facilities are central to Wild Hill’s character. Private guiding and exclusive use make the days flexible, while access to three conservancies offers a different Mara experience from staying entirely within the national reserve.

Before you book

Wild Hill is a northern Mara conservancy retreat rather than a camp inside the national reserve. Reserve excursions need route-specific arrangements. Confirm the house’s minimum occupancy and stay requirements when comparing costs, and consider hilltop access and suite distances for mixed-generation groups.

Make it part of a journey

A stay shaped around you.

Wild Hill suits a longer private stay where the group wants to enjoy the house as well as go on safari. Combine it with Laikipia or the coast for a change of setting, or choose a contrasting reserve camp if that adds a clear wildlife objective. Leave space for its wellness and residential comforts.
