Angama Amboseli

There are ten en-suite guest suites, including two pairs that interconnect for families. Each has a long super-king bed, a writing area and drinks cabinet, with screened glass-fronted openings framing the landscape. Bathrooms have double vanities, an indoor double shower and an outdoor shower. Private terraces have rocking chairs for watching the sanctuary. Kilimanjaro is the intended backdrop, although cloud can obscure the mountain.

Game drives explore Kimana Sanctuary and its elephant habitat. Half- or full-day excursions into Amboseli National Park add wetlands, open plains and further wildlife habitats to the programme; the park is approximately 45 minutes from the lodge. The photographic studio offers support with reviewing and editing photographs. Between outings, guests can use the pool, play games or simply spend time on their terrace. Wildlife encounters and clear mountain views vary.

Two pairs of interconnecting suites allow parents and children to remain close while keeping separate bedrooms and bathrooms. Children of all ages are welcomed. The sanctuary setting still requires attentive supervision, particularly around the swimming pool and when moving outside the guest areas.

Angama Amboseli adds a southern Kenya chapter to a wider safari. Three nights give more breathing room for sanctuary drives, a longer park day and time at the lodge. Pair it with the Maasai Mara when you want contrasting landscapes without turning every day into a transfer.
