Our take

About Offbeat Mara

Offbeat Mara is an intimate tented camp nestled on the banks of the Olare Orok stream within Kenya’s exclusive 74,000-acre Mara North Conservancy. With just seven tents, the camp offers an authentic safari experience centred on exceptional guiding, abundant wildlife and a wonderfully peaceful setting away from the crowds.

Within the sprawling 74,000-acre Mara Conservancy, Offbeat Mara has skillfully etched its own distinctive niche in this bountiful wildlife haven, far removed from the throngs of tourists. Nestled unobtrusively along the serene banks of the Olare Orok River, the camp is unencumbered by fences or pretense. Positioned away from the airstrip and the cluster of other camps in the vicinity, it affords you a greater degree of privacy as you gaze from your well-appointed tent across the expansive plains. Moreover, they can proudly lay claim to hosting their own resident lion pride!

We recommend Offbeat Mara selectively according to season, routing, room availability and the experience offered by the other stops in your itinerary.
